It was a requested detour on my part as we headed toward the train station in Milan, Italy. Our destination? The Bosco Verticale, or as it's known to most Americans, the “Vertical Forest.” I had seen so many pictures of it prior to the trip, but nothing quite prepared me for the real thing.

I must have taken at least a hundred pictures, not wanting to miss a single detail. Children’s laughter distracted me as I took notice of the families, pets, and couples that were enjoying their afternoon at the nearby parks.
